Submission summary

The key to the success of the project has been collaboration. From the very beginning the developer worked closely with Wandsworth Council and Historic England in a shared objective of preserving and enhancing the historic fabric of the building. This included weekly planning meetings and the establishment of a monthly Conservation Steering Group made up of Historic England, the LPA, Building Control, and the developer’s technical team.

The collective effort of all involved has resulted in a truly breath-taking heritage development that will be admired worldwide. A labour of love, the soul of this grand monument has been saved.
