Bow Goods Yard is the last parcel of land to be developed on the Olympic Park, protected for industrial use but neighbouring landmark stadiums. This development sets the ambition for Network Rail’s freight portfolio, delivering on an economic, social and environmental level. The existing rail freight operations - vital to London’s construction industry – will be intensified allowing up to 3.5 million tonnes of materials to be carried by rail, removing c.90,000 HGV movements each year, cutting pollution. The land has consent for 2 million square feet of development covering industrial space, a leisure district and public spaces, creating a new neighbourhood and around 5,000 new jobs.
