Entrant's Summary: The Calderdale Placemaking and Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is a district-wide guide, co-created with local stakeholders and community. The document supports policies in the adopted Local Plan to ensure developments in Calderdale deliver consistent, high-quality places. Engagement has helped define what makes Calderdale special and how new development should respond to this, creating a legacy for the future and meeting Council aims to reduce inequalities, create thriving places, and tackle the climate emergency. The final draft document was subject to formal public consultation in January ahead of final revision and adoption later this year.
