CANADA WATER MASTERPLAN, LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK, LONDON, SE16

Agency: Southwark Council, British Land and Transport for London (TfL)

The 53-acre Canada Water Masterplan is the most significant mixed-use development to secure Planning in the capital for a decade. It's London's first new town centre in a generation, unlocking tangible benefits for existing and future communities through the delivery of affordable and private homes, offices and shops, and public space, social and transport infrastructure and services and local investment on a scale commensurate with 'Opportunity Area' designation.

The plans were shaped through a five-year community engagement programme to maximise social value and to shape the physical elements of the Masterplan - generating significant support for the proposals locally.
