The Carpenters Estate Masterplan, approved by the LLDC’s planning committee in February 2024, is one of London’s most ambitious estate regeneration and restoration schemes, led by Populo Living on behalf of the London Borough of Newham. A high-quality, resident-focused engagement process led by Make:Good underpinned the development of a resident-led masterplan that secured a successful ballot in December 2021. Engagement activities included workshops, exhibitions, door-knocking, and resident-led programming at The Dovetail - a dedicated community space fostering collaboration. Our masterplan delivers over 2,000 new and replacement homes, including 50% affordable housing, with 42% of the 711 existing homes refurbished.
