Over 5 years in the making, and with significant community input, the Chippenham Neighbourhood Plan pushes the boundaries of what is possible to achieve in plan-making for a large town using the neighbourhood planning process. Recognising the considerable development pressures facing the town, the Plan’s ambitious and viability-tested policies raise the bar on future development being net zero carbon, wildlife friendly, accessible via active travel and of the highest quality design - balancing development with the community’s desire to protect and enhance the town’s green corridors and spaces, historic environment and access to the surrounding countryside.
