Daedalus Waterfront

Entrant's Summary: Daedalus Waterfront, a historic Naval base reinvented into a 42-acre mixed-use waterfront development on Lee-on-the-Solent. Working with the local community, a clear, shared set of objectives for the project were created; first, to bring jobs and opportunity to the area, second to preserve historic buildings and celebrate the site’s significant history and third, to support the Hovercraft Museum and nurture it as a successful destination – collectively, this ultimately will restore the community’s pride in HMS Daedalus. Daedalus Waterfront will deliver new jobs to the area, much needed homes in restored historic and new buildings, and public spaces to reconnect Lee-on-the-Solent.
