Submitting Organisation: Westminster City Council
Executive summary from entrant:
Daventry House is a landmark scheme by Westminster City Council comprising 60 social rent homes for older people within one of the UK’s most deprived wards. Located in central London, the new one-bedroom flats are in a mixed-use development and replace 44 poor quality bedsit studios nearby. All have a generous hallway, kitchen-diner-living room and large bathroom, while all conform to the HAPPI recommendations. Residents aged 60 and over will live independently aided by a support-scheme manager with 24/7 security. Communal amenities including a hall for events, organised socials, a library and an outdoor courtyard will ensure high quality living.
