Entrant's Summary: Over the past 16 months, the Planning Service at Enfield has embarked on a remarkable transformational journey. The transformation has been focused on efficiency improvements and new ways of working to enable a significant reduction in the backlog of legacy planning applications and enforcement cases, which has hugely improved the service experience of our customers as well as the workload and wellbeing of officers. Alongside these operational improvements, the service has made huge strides in progressing an up-to-date and ambitious Local Plan to enable sustainable, quality planning and help address the acute housing needs of the borough. The transformation work has been implemented in the context of significant budgetary pressures, involving the combined efforts of all teams across the Planning Service. The incredible progress achieved to date is testament to this ‘one service’ approach and the phenomenal hard work and dedication of officers.
