During some of the most challenging times experienced by the UK’s construction industry, the area has been transformed from an empty, unused gap site into a thriving hotel, commercial and residential quarter embracing a vibrant architectural heritage, an inclusive public arts strategy and substantial public realm improvements.

And, at its heart stands, refurbished and rejuvenated, one of the nation’s most important Art Nouveau facades - presenting both a proud legacy of the city’s mercantile past and a sharply defined focus for future regeneration.
