The Monklands Replacement Project is NHS Lanarkshire’s strategic vision to deliver a new acute hospital to replace the existing University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie. In addition to the high-quality and clinical-led design, it accommodates state-of-the-art technology and digital-based expertise. The project has a Net Zero Carbon ambition embedded into its design, delivery and operation, and is a Net Zero Pathfinder for a new all-electric standard. In addition, it offers long-lasting benefits beyond the building itself – ripple effects. These effects will be to be benefit of the local economy, social cohesion and well-being, local infrastructure and public health outcomes.
