The planners at Portsmouth City Council are planning the UK's only island City. We have turned around planning performance and delivered on the Local Plan at the same time as progressing two outstanding projects. Flooding is a major issue. Our new Coastal Defences defend our City, and our planners have made sure that they add value to our amazing heritage, natural environment and public realm. Poverty is another major issue with many of our residents struggling with health, housing and work. Planners have worked hard to counter poverty and fire risk in the heart of the City at Somers Orchard.
