Purley Strategic Regeneration Framework

Purley was facing rapid development and the community felt neglected, unheard and were unhappy with the uncoordinated approach to local sites. 

This was coupled with the challenges posed by the pandemic and bankruptcy faced by our client, Croydon Council.

Despite these difficulties, the Purley Panel succeeded in aligning the principles of the regeneration framework with the community's legacy. The community is still implementing key elements of the framework today and ensuring new development supports local people and local spaces. This resilient approach has been a success and should be recognised as an exemplar for other areas facing similar challenges.
