Executive summary:

While HTA and Apex's research focused on the potential for rooftop development, the practice in successfully getting this scheme approved highlights how challenging traditional approaches to housing delivery can work on existing sites without loss to existing homes and communities.

Therefore, this is an excellent project which ties research, practice and resident engagement on the potential for increasing delivery of housing through rooftop and infill development.

Left out of the council's estate regeneration plans, this project will help to bring a building up to date while delivering much needed new affordable homes and benefits to existing residents.
