Small Sites, Small Builders – De-risking Small Sites in Camden.

Entrant's Summary: On behalf of their public sector partners, the Inner Circle Consulting team has been responsible for unlocking half of the funding from the Greater London Authority’s Small Sites, Small Builders Fund. The London Borough of Camden was one of these successful bidders. In partnership, LB Camden and Inner Circle have co-developed a robust risk assessment process for determining suitable delivery routes for the Council’s small sites, thereby boosting new home delivery. This replicable process and toolkit helps Camden avoid substantial cost and abortive work. This is achieved by assessing their sites and their potential barriers to delivery early in the process – by profiling sites with a weighted risk we have been able to identify which sites should come forward for development, and by which route to market.
