The Adopted Chatham Centre Design Code SPD received unanimous support from Medway Members and is a national exemplar that will seek to reverse the local health inequalities. It lays the ground work to ensure Chatham becomes a healthier happier and thriving City and highlights the importance of genuine and inclusive community and stakeholder engagement in the creation of the design code to create a meaningful and deliverable vision. The Design Code establishes the detailed parameters needed to deliver high-quality and healthy places, contributing to the area’s vision to define Chatham as a healthy and connected city centre by 2050.
