The Horlicks Factory, Horlicks Quarter

Entrant's Summary: Constructed in 1908, the Horlicks Factory was locally listed in 1999 as an integral part of Slough’s skyline. Berkeley Homes has delivered c.300 homes in the former Factory site's extensive regeneration and plans up to 1300 new homes. At the heart of this regeneration is the restoration the Horlicks Factory, which will offer 161 residential units along with community amenities. In addition, the Grade II listed War Memorial, ‘Grief’, first erected in 1949 to honour Horlick employees in both World Wars was restored by Berkeley Homes and carefully positioned in Memorial Square surrounded by suitable water features high-quality landscaping.
