Executive summary from entrant:
The Walworth Town Hall has stood derelict since it was ravaged by fire in 2013. This large-scale conservation/restoration project has reintegrated this former Town Hall in the wider Walworth and Elephant and Castle areas. The designers Feix & Merlin have conserved and enhanced building’s great heritage dating back to 1894 and delivered a building suitable for modern uses including a free-to-use community hub as well as event and workspaces. The project involved the careful restoration of original features, a new CLT extension, and a new lift core for accessibility delivering some 50,000 sq/ft of usable space.
