Watford Local Plan 2021-2038: A Sustainable Town

The Local Plan sets out the positive framework for growth in Watford to 2038, providing a clear vision to shape the town and support its growing community. Set within a challenging planning environment where the borough is not metropolitan or rural, surrounded by Green Belt and has significant land availability constraints, the Planning Policy team has embraced the challenges arising through lockdown, coming together at times of adversity to apply new ways of working and deliver a progressive and focussed Local Plan at a time when local authorities are struggling to overcome challenges facing Local Plan preparation.
