Young Researchers in Residence Programme (YRIR) in collaboration with LSE Cities and Make Space for Girls
Countryside Partnerships
YRIR is an innovative model for investigating and designing urban spaces with local young women central to the design process. This initiative explores public realm experiences and spatial peer-research methodologies with youth. Young local people are designing the very spaces that they will use.
It is the only initiative in the UK that has been designed as a micro-apprenticeship scheme, participants are paid LSE research rates while receiving valuable training from leaders in the field. YRIR draws together industry, education, and charity sectors in one programme leading the way in collaboration across sectors for the same common aim.
